Fun Day for Club
We held a fun surf day for our May club day at Ocean Grove. Faced with a very small swell it was decided not to run the first round of the club championship and also the normal club surf day. It was put to a vote in the car park and about 30 of us decided to run a 2 hour tag team event at the main beach instead.
Surfers from each team caught 2 waves each and then came in to the beach to tag the next team member who did the same.
We were scored by 2 very dodgy judges in Chris Meier and Simon Thorn who were seen with beers in hand at about 10 am. At the end of the 2 hours the total waves caught and the scores were added up. Some bribery and bending of the rules was attempted but in the end the blue team of Andrew Brown, Brian Thompson, Mark Beshera, Russell Synott and Paul Fletcher came out the winners on the day. Lachy Fletcher and Brian Thompson are looking to go on the professional wrestling circuit.
