We Strike it for a super sunny surf day

The second comp for the year was held in almost perfect conditions (again).

With a light North Westerly and a ¾ to 1meter swell running, things were looking good.

All competitors’ names were in the hat by 7.45 and the first of the qualifying heats was in the water by 8.15

With the out going tide surfers were favouring the peaks closer to Smiths Reef and some good lefts managed to peel off for the patient ones.

By the time the finals were in the water the very low tide and the more Westerly wind was affecting the quality of the waves. Finding good high scoring waves was proving difficult in some heats.

With quite a few members away at the Noosa festival it didn’t take long to get through the Qualifying and finals. The whole day was rapt up by about 2.30.

Once again Chris Meier, Dean Cook and Ant Brown managed to get good results but it is also good to see other names coming through in the results. Basha, Mick Dwyer and Brent Wommersley all had good results in the division 1catagory.
