Dean Cook,2nd over 35's.
Well Done SOUL Longboarders at the Ausie Titles.
SOULS Dean Cook led the way with a fantastic 2nd place in the prestigious over 35 men’s division. Beaten by Mat Rawson from NSW. Mat is a seasoned campaigner of Ausie Titles so well done Cookie.
The ever consistent and multi disciplined surfing champion Heather Peck also placed a very credible 3rd in the over 35 women’s division.
The other SOUL members who headed up to Port Macquarie were, El President'e Brian Tucker, Anthony Brown, Sam Sunderman, Kate Sullivan, Trent Myers and Greg (George-Eagle) Wilson. We hear a (very) Good time was had by all. There's got to be some plus side to going out early.
By the sounds of it the conditions were challenging to say the least and all competitors did the club proud and showed that we have some real talent amongst us. The experience of surfing with the country’s best will not be lost on any of the team members especially the likes of Sam and Trent.
Congratulations must also go to fellow Vico’s Sam & Tas Dunton (Mornington Peninsular) and Surfcoasts AJ Lynch.
Sam reached the Final of the Open section and eventually came 3rd behind Josh and Harley, a bloody good effort we recon.
AJ and Tas made the final of the Junior boys and finished second and third respectfully.
The future is looking strong for the southern state.
We are a family oriented Longboard club based in the Ocean Grove / Barwon heads area, We cater for all ages and abilities and promote longboarding as a healthy pastime. We run monthly competitions and a few social events throughout the year.
